Your father always told you about monsters when you were small. Terrible and godless creatures that hid in the shadows and fissures beyond human society. Beasts sent from hottest hell to test mankind with their words and their deception.
They are not of this world, you’d hear him say. They use dark and wicked means to prey on the weaknesses of men, women, children, it didn’t matter. They crudely mimic human faces, hide amongst neighbors. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light, he’d recite.
OR:
An AU in which the old circus Ringmaster had a child, one who was kept in the dark about the true nature of the performances ever since they began. But when your curiosity boils over and fuels you to sneak into the hidden room just inside the main show tent that you were forbidden to enter, you begin to question everything you've ever known, everything you've ever been taught.
What makes a monster? What makes a sinner and what makes a saint? Most importantly, what makes a person?

Summary
Trapped in an endless void after falling from the broken Bifrost, Loki is saved by a harmless cosmic spirit. When the Other finds them, the spirit is dragged along with the Asgardian into Thanos’ schemes for Earth. Fueled by fear and desperation, Loki plans to escape his bonds using the spirit, trapping it in human form.
To his regret, Loki does not anticipate his creation having a will of its own. And too late does Loki realize it’s not as harmless as he once thought.

Summary
It doesn't really matter who you are or how you got here. What matters is that you, apparently, were a dud as far as experiments go, and Mother Miranda has grown tired and impatient when it comes to spending time on imperfect and unready subjects.
But she has an idea on how to produce the perfect candidate -- all she needs is two infected test subjects of the opposite sex and nine months. Now that you've entered the picture, it all seems to be coming together.
