Summary
“What are you two staring at each other for?” Heather asks quietly. Her voice sounds all dreamy in her head.
“We’re not,” they both say in unison. They may as well be shaking themselves and scrambling. Eddie’s cheeks have gone a cute ballerina pink.
Oh.
“It’s okay to look at each other.”
“I think you’d find, Holloway, that we’re both looking at you,” Eddie says. But it’s not totally convincing.Or
It’s 1984 and Heather Holloway leaves the Halloween party to smoke weed with Eddie Munson and a very sad Steve Harrington.

“What do you want, Louis?” Lestat cuts in, narrowing his eyes salaciously. “Do you want me to beg for it?”

“I do.”
He sighs. “I can make an Instagram tweet.”

Summary
Ever since Eddie was a kid, he's known that he would die at nineteen. He never really came up with a plan for how to spend his last year. But if he'd had to guess, it would have involved spending lots of time with Wayne, and his band, and the Hellfire Club.
He certainly couldn't predict that he'd fall in love with Steve Harrington over a summer of early morning swims and smashing shit in the junkyard. Or the whole monster fighting thing.
(Or: Eddie and Steve navigate a little-to-the-left world where technology exists to predict the age a person will be when they die. Don't worry, no one stays dead.)

Summary
Vecna dies. So does Eddie. The world doesn't split open. In the aftermath, Steve goes home to an empty house.
Well. Almost empty.
Steve sighs, hanging his head. One more thing. Then he can go to bed.
The dirty towel can wait until later. He tosses it towards the bathtub without looking and turns to the sink, grabbing his toothbrush and toothpaste. When he looks in the mirror, Eddie’s staring back at him.
