Summary
The man in front of her holds open the door for her. She mumbles a thank you, not really looking at him, still preoccupied with the class she’s about to give.
“Don’t I know you from somewhere?”, she hears him say then.
His voice does sound somewhat familiar, but she can’t place it until she turns her head and looks at him.
When she does, she freezes, the blood draining from her face. Her heart drops into her toes and simultaneously shoots up into her throat, starts beating a mile a minute and simultaneously stops.
He has obviously aged, he isn’t slouching, his hair is shorter and his face is covered in stubble, but that is unmistakably Nathan Prescott. The man holding open the door for her, here at Caledon University, is Nathan Prescott.
When Max runs into Nathan Prescott ten years after the fact, it rips open old wounds that she normally carefully steps around. But maybe he can help her heal them.
