Summary
Derek slumps in his chair. After so long, he closes his eyes. A smile reaches his lips. Tears well and pour. His pulse stops in a rhythm. His life is slipping, and the universe floods his eyes. The stars, the earth, all of history, all that will ever be, aliens and starships, occultism and symbols, every language across the known realm; It's too fast to comprehend, but the beauty brings him to breathlessness. The king's screams echo through the chaos.
Somewhere, out there, right there, right here, Avery cries. Derek knows he's mourning. The hope, the hopelessness, the love, the betrayal, the grief, he willingly feels it all. He looks through the house. Avery's mother is watching the ball drop, His sister and brother bicker over alcohol. Fireworks thunder outside. Derek revels in the celebrations. He won't get another. Avery's sobs are drowned out by the noise below. He extends his oblivion-touched hands, but cannot reach him.

Summary
"Viktor, you can't...," Jayce was choking back tears as he spoke. The air on the bridge howled around them in two streams, cutting the warmth from their bodies.
"The council made their decision, Jayce, I am exiled." He didn't turn his head to look at him. Jayce's breathing was the only sound on the bridge now, "I can make them change their minds." He pleaded.
Viktor lowered his makeshift cloak's hood. He shook his head, "They will use me as a weapon. It's better, this way." Guilt bit at his brain. Jayce's opaline forehead markings were proof of his tampering. He tapped his cane-staff against the brick of the bridge, and a flash of light drew Jayce's attention away. The shadowy illusion of a seagull flew towards the sea.
"Viktor!" Jayce ran to the edge of the bridge, dumbfounded, watching as the seagull left his sight. Viktor took his distraction and slinked back towards Zaun.
OR: Viktor is a natural-born mage. Hextech is a "fraud". Viktor finds a Silverwing. Jayce steals an airship. Viktor ascends regardless.

But still, one person kept coming to mind. Avery. Avery Avery Avery….
Why was he so caught up on him? He didn’t stand a chance before, what would have changed now?
Derek knew Avery. Knew everything. Knew what his hands felt like. Yet, he never actually met him. Couldn’t exactly if he wanted to now, anyway. Avery himself only knew Derek's name.
And yet…
Stupidly, insanely.
Derek missed him. Missed what he knows could have been a part of his lonely life.
If only they met sooner, in better circumstances.

Jayce had always dreamed of the day he'd meet his soulmate, deeming it to be the most important day of his life.
Vi didn't think much of her soulmate. She figured meeting them or not would be like a lottery game.
Caitlyn feared meeting her soulmate, haunted by the fear that they would not be able to bear having to play the game of high society and would reject her.
Viktor didn't believe in soulmates. He thought it was something for the rich and the wealthy. Not for people like him.
Despite these conflicting ideals all four had been born with soulmarks so they knew one way or another meeting their soulmate was a possibility. But they never expected to meet them at the induction ceremony at their new school.
They also never expected for things to go....so horribly wrong.

“Oh…” Jayce utters, in a curiously breathless tone, but his face is completely blank as he stares intently at his laptop screen. “What… what did you do?”
“Went in the Registry Editor and changed the DependOnService value to RPCCS.” replies Viktor as evenly as he can, knowing that his entire explanation will just sound like absolute gibberish, and his lips twitch imperceptibly when Jayce just blinks at him in silence, at least until his expression flickers into a more pinched look that Viktor doesn’t know how to interpret.
“That’s-” Jayce starts to say, before halting himself abruptly, and all of a sudden his slanted mouth melts placidly into a very dangerous, very charming boyish smile. “I have no idea what that means.”
(Viktor has encountered all sorts of IT issues in his company, but their new salesman's bad luck with his laptop is truly bizarre... and maybe even a bit suspicious.)

Summary
Half a decade after Viktor leaves Piltover for good, a fragment of Hexcore permanently adhered to his soul, an old friend comes to him for help. This wouldn't be an issue, if the same old friend hadn't spent the last five years trying to hit him, very hard, with a really big hammer.
“You’re not real,” Viktor repeated, closing his eyes. Even with the knowledge that this was a dream, the gentle touch unraveled him. There was an impact crater where his heart should be.
The calloused pad of Jayce's thumb found the corner of Viktor’s mouth. “All right. I’ll bite – what’s your evidence for this hypothesis?”
Viktor smiled into the touch, felt it tug against Jayce's thumbprint. “Isn’t it obvious? You haven’t tried to kill me yet.”- Language:

Summary
Viktor never leaves Zaun. Instead, as Singed's protege, he draws the attention of Silco and ends up taken under the kingpins' wing, another stray in a makeshift family of outcasts and orphans.
With no one to stand by his side after the Council's ruling, a disgraced Jayce Talis enlists as an Enforcer and swiftly climbs through their ranks until he is assigned a mission befitting of the golden boy of Piltover's Police Force.
When a cadre of Enforcers barges in to the Last Drop demanding to speak with Silco, Viktor does everyone a favor by intervening in the conversation between them and his little sister before it can escalate to explosive porportions.
