Summary
“And, um, how long have you been in love with me?”
“Honestly? Probably for years.”
Years, he watches Buck mouth the word. His eyes slip past Eddie, his expression turning slightly dazed as he tries to process this new information.
“But I only realized it now.”
Buck’s eyes flick back to him, eyebrows shooting up in surprise. “Now?”
“Yeah, like, right now.” He looks down at the watch on his wrist, cocking his head back and forth. “About five minutes ago, give or take.”
“You realized you’re in love with me while watching me wipe chocolate off Theo’s face?” Buck huffs out a laugh, looking down at the dirty wet wipe still clutched in his hands in disbelief.
Or, Eddie realizes he's in love with Buck on a Wednesday afternoon. This is how that goes.

Summary
Hen sighs. “Something had to be said before you idiots put us in mortal peril.”
“I’d never do anything to jeopardize our safety on a job! You know that Hen.”
“Maybe not on purpose,” Chim chimes in, “but, see, the thing is, when you flirt with our Buck, his brain turns off. He just bluescreens.”
“You’re flustering the poor boy, Eddie,” Hen adds. “And it’s making him dumb.”
“-er,” Chim adds.
“Wha- Buck isn’t flustered.”
Eddie is flustered. His face feels hot. He takes another sip of his coffee to give his hands something do to, but that only makes him feel warmer. Shit.
Hen levels him with the most deadpan look. “Last week he walked into a stop sign after you called him ‘big boy’ on a call.”
Eddie nearly spits out his coffee.
Or: the one where Eddie subconsciously flirts with Buck without realizing and Buck is actively trying not to have a heart attack at work about it

Summary
“Sit” he gestures to the stool at the counter.
Buck goes easy. Always so obedient.
“Good boy.” It comes out rough. Buck’s eyes flutter shut. “Should I be calling you a good boy actually? What with you going around picking fights?” He keeps his tone gentle, teasing. He expects a joke back, something to break the tension, but Buck’s tone is painfully earnest, his eyes pleading.
“I’m good. I’ll be good.”
Or
Nobody ever tells Buck that he’s a good boy, and he’s such a good boy. Eddie endeavours to change that. Platonically, of course. Or at least it starts that way.Bookmarked by FaeEla

Summary
“Ravi, I want you to have my fours,” says Buck, before Ravi can start his own turn. All three heads at the table turn to him in incredulous unison, so he adds, “What?”
“That is simply not how the game works,” answers Ravi, dumbfounded. “How do you—are you real?”
“Don’t open that can of worms,” Eddie teases with a shake of his head. “I’m still trying to work that one out, and I was roommates with the guy.”
Barely audible, Hen mutters, “Roommates, he says. Is that what historians will call it?”
or: Eddie has a work wife. Buck has a lot to figure out.

Summary
Eddie can feel the goosebumps puckering across Buck’s skin. He’s torn between chasing that feeling, letting the goosebumps spread all over Buck's pale body—or rubbing his fingers over each individual hump and smoothing them out completely.
Eddie gives Buck a massage to help with the pain in his leg after he’s injured on a call. Things…escalate and they get their happy ending after all.
