Darius mumbled something under his breath about how this had ‘better be real important,’ stomping to the other end of the room in his fuzzy purple slippers. He tossed the door open, and needless to say, was not happy to see Hunter standing outside in the hallway at the ungodly hours of the night, with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders.
“Hi,” Was all Hunter could say before Darius was slamming the door in his face.

On any other day, a sick day would be a nigh impossibility. Sickness was weakness, Hunter had learned, and weakness was the most pathetic excuse to be relieved of his duties, however miserable he’d feel. Besides, it’s not like such an excuse would ever be accepted by his Uncle. He’d always decided that if he had the chance, he’d put off being sick all year until his day off when he could comfortably rest and not have to kick himself for doing nothing.
But today? Right now? He wanted nothing less. He wanted to be sick on literally other any day. Today was not the day.

Hunter finds it hard to breathe in the mask, and for a while he’s too stubborn to take it off, but all of a sudden he’s sweltering and the dyspnea combined with the boiling heat of his fever has him throwing off his mask and taking long gasps for air once it’s finally off.
This is the first time Lilith is seeing his face, and it’s the first time she’s realizing this is a titandamn child.
