Ben is fucked up. That much is true. Butcher is equally fucked up. That’s true too. Some would say opposites attract. Ben and Butcher are far from opposites. Their relationship is like a powder keg ready to detonate, fuel to an ever growing fire and fuck does it feel good.
Or Ben has issues sleeping. The kind that has to do with his PTSD and nightmares and the ever looming threat of blowing a place sky high and the kind that he is absolutely not going to talk or even think about. He’s learned recently that pain keeps him grounded in a way that drugs don’t - can’t. He goes to the one person who knows the kind of shit he’s going through, who can deliver what he needs without asking questions.

Because of me you’re better.” Ben promises with that same sickly arrogant smirk.Butcher just weakly looked over and sighed once more. His wife was dead. The man he hated the most is dead. Ryan is missing. All his friends just left. He is one of America’s most wanted men. He was supposed to be dying.
Yet he’s alive thanks to Soldier Boy.
“Fuck it. Why not? It’s not like I have much to lose any way.” He concedes and slouches back into the seat, purposeless and aimless. Just maybe sticking around with Ben long enough would give him a new one. Afterall who was capable of killing all the other supes if not the both of them.
“Good boy.”
