Summary
There's a clear plastic container on the kitchen table. Eddie sets the bag down warily on the counter, approaches it warily, as if it's a live grenade. Which is prescient, he realizes a moment later.
It is, as the message suggested, a cake. A small one, sized so that a person could eat it in a single sitting if they were feeling greedy and indulgent. Chocolate layers, topped with a silky-looking ganache; Buck even sprinkled little curls of white chocolate around the edges for decoration. Lettering piped in bright red frosting, uneven but perfectly legible, reads, DON'T IGNORE ME, I SUCKED YOUR DICK.

"Chris, why are Eddie and Buck locked in the bathroom?”
"I'll explain when you're older," said Chris.
"I'm four and a half," Theo argued back.

Summary
"That is. Okay. Where do I start." Pushing off the counter — hands need to be free for this. "Number one. That is not how being secure in your sexuality works. Number two. That is the opposite of how it works. Number three. Most straight men who are secure in their sexuality do not, as a method of confirming this, seek out gay sex. That is— Eddie, that is gay. The thing you are describing is gay. The act of doing it is gay. There is no version of this where you end up more straight at the other end."
Eddie scoffs. "You don't know that."
"I do know that."
"You don't."
"Eddie, I am bi. I have personally conducted this experiment. The results are in."
Or,
Eddie asks Buck to fuck him to prove he's straight. Things go about as well as you'd think.Series

Summary
He squeezes his fingers around the fabric of Eddie’s sweater, on his back, trying to comfort him, while his chin rests on Eddie’s shoulder, and it probably makes a coward of Eddie but he finds a bit of strength from not having to actually face Buck, from being wrapped up in his arms.
He closes his eyes too, for good measure, and takes a full, deep breath in, inhaling Buck’s scent. “Don’t go back to Tommy, he doesn’t deserve you, you deserve better,” he slurs against Buck’s chest, where he stays hidden, like the coward he established he is. “And I– I want you, if– if–”
Eddie realizes he’s gay, begs Buck to stop baking and gets a birthday cake and a boyfriend in one night

Summary
Things flow uncharacteristically seamlessly for Eddie over the following weeks. He eventually manages to only feel the need to check in on Christopher once each shift, twice if he’s on a double. Buck feels like part of the family so fast it makes Eddie’s head spin a little, especially when he comes home and Buck is waiting with a home cooked meal and stories of what he and Christopher got up to that day.
or
The one where Eddie hires Buck as a nanny for Christopher and has to navigate falling in love with someone he shouldn't want (who definitely wants him in return).
