Summary
Set after “it was enchanting to meet you” - Peter is avoiding Erik in light of recent events.
He told himself it was inevitable. Peter’s embarrassment was understandable. Being reduced to a toddler had been violation enough; having his secret dragged into the light alongside it was worse. Erik was not entitled to anything more than silence. Whatever comfort had passed between them during those strange, impossible days belonged to another version of Peter entirely. A version who no longer existed.
Erik half-expected the distance to last months.
It lasted four days.

Or: a prank goes wrong and the X-Men are suddenly forced to confront the fact they don't know Peter as well as they think. Meanwhile Peter is forced to confront the fact that maybe he shouldn't have just been denying his trauma for twenty years?
