Summary
Amamiya Ren is a victim of a corrupt system. Wrongly convicted of a crime he didn't commit and abandoned by everyone, even his parents, he was shipped of to Tokyo for probation. Little does he know that he is part of a game with the odds rigged against him. However, Yuki Kuroku, member of the now-dissolved SEES has infiltrated the game. Summary
A friendly game of compliments between Ren and Goro soon escalates into a friendly game of flirting, which then escalates into a maybe too friendly game of gay chicken. That's all fine and good, except Ren's playing with a major disadvantage: he's in love with his opponent.
But it's fine. Everything's fine. Ren's not going to let something like wanting to die from his repressed feelings get in the way of their competition. After all, Goro would never forgive him if he didn't give their game everything he's got.

Summary
They say the first thing you forget about someone is their voice, that the sensory memory is simply just background noise, it is just air and vibrations after all. Nothing but a frequency that gets tuned out in your mind, especially after a long time. Akira had hoped that wouldn’t be true; he didn’t want to forget a thing, and there just wasn’t even enough to remember. He doesn’t want to admit it, but only after a year, Akira is starting to forget how Akechi’s voice sounded.

“So I’m to be bait,” Akechi says flatly. “You’re serving me up.”
Ren can feel the grin on his face, and he can’t stop it. “I gotta open the store tomorrow, I only serve coffee.”
“Absolutely idiotic. Why would I agree to that?"
Ren shrugs one shoulder and leans back against the movie theater wall, smiling. He’s feeling light on his feet right now. It’s been a bad day, but the end is nice. “Call it penance.”
“Penance for what,” Akechi says.
His smile stays where it is as he glances away for a moment, then meets Akechi’s eyes again. “Being yourself.”

Summer vacation back in Tokyo was supposed to be two things: an exciting break from the mundanity of home, and a chance to see people he's missed so much it hurts. If he survives, Ren has good news for himself on both.
