And he stopped running, he didn’t know where he was, but the anxiety remained deep in his heart. And he screamed. Screamed louder than he ever had in his entire life, feeling as the air leaving his lungs scraped his throat, leaving it itchy and swollen. Two rivers flowing down his cheeks, emanating from his emerald eyes that no longer had that characteristic shine in them as they had gotten dimmed and darker. His legs gave in, and he felled onto the floor, using a building’s wall as support. His body shrinking upon itself.
Where there is light, there are also shadows.
The shadows were still there, so thick that he could see them. And they hugged him. They gather around him, covering his vision until he couldn’t see anything else than an endless void. And there, in the places where we least expect it, he found solace. The darkness reaching so throughout into him, that the shadows in his heart were deeper than the abyss. It was in that moment.

Dabi escaped the League of Villains when Shigaraki killed All For One, releasing Dabi from a mind-altering quirk. Appalled at his past actions, Dabi attempts to atone by fighting against Shigaraki. Izuku Midoriya steps in when he finds Dabi struggling against two nomu, and an unlikely team is formed.
During the final battle with Shigaraki, Dabi and Izuku are thrust back into the past to try to stop the devastation of Japan at Shigaraki hands and maybe forge a new path for themselves.
