For the first time, Jimmy was on the other side, Jimmy was the one who was mad, Jimmy was the one who could scream and shout and call his soulmate an idiot and demand to know how and why they had died.
But instead, he looked at Tango’s face, and he saw guilt, anxiety. And Tango immediately started to stutter out apologies, trying to explain himself, and Jimmy could see the gears turning in Tango’s mind, as he tried to figure out a way to make it up to them.
Jimmy had been in Tango’s position enough times by now. He knew how it felt.
So he didn’t shout.

“Come on Jim! I know something’s up with you, just fucking tell me man.” Joel tried to reason, resting a hand on Jimmy’s shoulder.
Tim shrugged him off with a snarl, wings puffing up defensively. “I told you to drop it! It’s fine, everything’s fine. Stop being so damn nosy all the time!”
“Maybe when I actually believe that I will. You can’t seriously be trying to convince me ‘everything’s fine’. Anyone could see how weird you’ve been lately!”
“Just don’t worry about it!” Jimmy said frantically, backing up slightly. “It’s just- it’s stupid, it’s just my dumb bird problems don’t worry about it.”
Joel didn’t seem to know what to say to that but fortunately Grian did.

Fire. Red hot fire.
That was the only thing Tango saw after the exclamation that the Ranch was burning. Not just because of, well, the actual fire blooming across his and Jimmy's newly-built home. There was a sudden, burning rage inside him as he turned to see Scar looking towards Martyn's base curiously, a hand to his face to shield his eyes from the sun, smoke behind him rapidly engulfing the Ranch.
Or, I watched Jimmy and Tango's recent DL episodes and my brain exploded and made this.

Out of nowhere the loud ringing of the phone pierced the deafening silence of the apartment, Pearl’s heart nearly giving out in surprise. Though loud, the sound was muffled, coming from behind the door leading to Jimmy’s room. Pearl’s brows knit themselves together. How had he forgotten his phone as well?
'He’d probably leave his head behind as well if it weren’t attached to his body' she thought to herself as she hung up and headed for the bedroom, carelessly throwing the door open, only to freeze in her tracks.
Jimmy hadn’t left his phone behind.
He hadn’t even left the apartment.
He was sitting on the floor, back pressed against the corner walls, knees pulled up to his chest. Red-rimmed eyes stared unfocused into nothing, erratic breaths punching out of his lungs, drowning on dry land.Or

They stopped once they reached another big clearing and oh—he’d thought Pearl had been exaggerating about how overgrown the property had become. But wild weeds and debris stretched as far as the eye could see. Fields of wheat and corn had given way to sturdy maples and pine trees.
And the house… Well, it looked as though no one had set foot in or around it for more than a decade.
“Told you it was bad,” Pearl half-snickered.
“You’re exaggerating! With enough time this can all be fixed up easily.”
“Says the carpenter. The house looks like it’s being held together with duct tape and Gramps’ old stubbornness! Are you sure this is even safe to stay in?”
Grian waved a hand in dismissal. “I went to check it over a few days back. It’s not a luxury resort or anything, it’s covered in about an inch layer of dust and I’m pretty sure a lot of the wiring and plumbing needs to be redone, but it’s not going to collapse at a moment's notice.”

Jimmy was still sound asleep, snoring softly, his nose nuzzled into Tango’s frazzled hair. He was reluctant to move, partially out of fear of waking him.
The other part was that Tango was just so darn comfortable. He didn’t want to get out of bed, out from under the soft woolen blanket, out from under Jimmy’s arms.
For the first time since he arrived on this server, he felt safe.
Couldn’t he just sleep for five more minutes?
In which Jimmy and Tango spend a soft morning together, despite everything.

“I'm a canary,” Jimmy tells Tango, blurting out the answer like it burns his tongue. “I'm cursed and I cause disasters wherever I go.”
Tango raises an eyebrow. “...Because you're a canary?”
Jimmy feels like Tango isn't taking this seriously. “Yes! Because I'm a canary! I'm an omen of death! You know, canary in a coal mine, they die and there's something dangerous! And I cause it because I'm cursed to be the canary!”
Tango snorts. “I don't think that's true.”
Jimmy stares at Tango in surprise. “It is true!”
Tango frowns slightly. “...When we're done with the game, I have someone I think you should meet.”Or: Jimmy is a canary. He has a soulmate who knows a guy that can take care of canaries quite well.

Summary
It’s mesmerising, following the fluid lines of the sculpture from the neck to the tail, each detail so delicately carved and shaped it’s impossible to imagine that it’s been carved from stone.
He’s reached a hand out before he knows it, stroking one finger carefully along the raised spines of the dragon, along its back. It’s warm beneath his hand, despite all the stone around him being cold. It’s definitely some kind of stone though, maybe a refined obsidian of some kind? It seems to swallow the light around it completely.
His finger is warm where he is touching the statue.

On moonless nights, Molly doesn’t sleep. It doesn’t feel right, not when there’s so much darkness. It makes his skin crawl in a strange way, a way that feels foreign and familiar at the same time. He can’t explain it, and neither can he understand it.
So in the absence of the moon, he finds himself led to the only other source of light.
The campfire has long since burned out, hiding away their little alcove in the shadows of trees, bushes and grass. Still, a little piece of light emits from the circle of carts - three dancing balls of light in the hands of a familiar wizard.

Caleb's least favorite part of late night watches has always been waking the next member of the party, who immediately assumes he's a threat and gives him a very unneeded adrenaline spike. Mollymauk has historically been the worst, and he's been trying different ways to wake up the tiefling without getting his hand cut off by a scimitar. Many different methods had proved unsuccessful, but Caleb was always willing to go the extra mile in pursuit of research.
