So really, when the RDA paraded an innocent person in front of him, torturing him like it was normal—like it was nothing—forcing Peter to hear a whimper turn into a choked cry as they tried to turn the boy's brain to mush for the sake of gathering information. . .
You get the point.
They should have known better, really. Peter's practically allergic to cruelty.
What did anyone expect?
That he’d do the smart thing for once and keep his head down?
As if.

Summary
His legs gave out. He slumped against a massive tree, pain flaring in his side. Around him, unfamiliar plants twisted and glimmered in the fading light. Vines hung low. Birds chirped loudly. The sun was setting. He wouldn’t make it through the night.
And then he saw it.
A flicker of orange moving through the shadows. Golden-honey skin, dark orange markings, sapphire-blue eyes, and a spiral seal at the stomach.
Not green. Not leaf-clan. Not anything he had read about.
The figure stepped closer, cautious but unafraid, curiosity shining in those impossible eyes.
Sasuke’s body couldn’t stay awake any longer. Darkness crept into the edges of his vision. The last thing he saw before surrendering to it was that impossible orange figure drawing nearer.

After his brother disappears, Sasuke Uchiha is thrust into the Avatar Program and sent to Pandora in a body genetically engineered from his own DNA. Summary
Hiccup, finally convinced, turns around one last time before saying goodbye to go back to his father and Gobber, and waves at the gentle stranger who helped him.
The stranger smiles at him, although Hiccup can't see it, due to the perpetual blur on their face, he can feel that they're smiling warmly at him. And then they speak and, at last, he does remember their words:
“Goodbye, hatchling.”
