“You bought these for me?” Ilya asks, because he’s in disbelief and doesn’t know what else to say. The water shoes are staring right back at him.
“I want you to be safe here,” he hears Shane say in answer. Shane is blushing, pink coloring the high points of his cheeks, and looks like he sort of regrets saying it. Ilya is a bit stunned by the sentiment, quiet, and feels a bit of overwhelm creep in.
Ilya has been in love with Shane for years. He finds out it's a two way street.
