Summary
Will knew something was wrong from the moment they entered the Upside Down. As he was hit with the familiar sensation of the bone-deep cold and spores tickling his lungs, he knew something was going to go terribly wrong.

Summary
“I love you, Mom.” His voice felt weirdly hollow, like he wasn’t all there anymore.
“Baby? What’s wrong?”
“He’s here,” he almost whispered. “Henry, he’s—he’s going to kill me using him.“
On a mission in the Upside Down, Will and Mike talk.

Summary
From the other side of the door he can hear Jonathan’s voice. Low, careful, cracking around the edges.
“Will, come on. Just a little, okay? You don’t have to finish it.”
The silence isn't anything new. Will’s been quiet all day, but he's been quiet for months before that.
I-... I'm glad you asked, Mike. I'm glad you're my best friend. I know it's silly, but- sometimes I think God let me have you as a best friend to make up for everything else. Or that maybe I just got so lucky meeting you that everything else needed to be evened out somehow.
Mike squeezes his eyes shut, jaw tightening. He couldn't shut down right now.
---
“I heard you talking to Jonathan,” Mike murmurs instead, not letting himself hide away this time, not when Will was withering away in front of him. “About eating.”
Will’s lips press together. Mike tracks it like a hawk. It’s just them here. He’s allowed to care. It’s just them.
“I’m not hungry.”
"You haven't been hungry in days. You're never hungry."
Or, a small post season five fix it fic, because depression doesn't just disappear, and Mike and Will need each other now more than ever.

Vecna’s gaze doesn’t leave his. He reaches out and grips Will around the jaw, gently, as the vision changes in the background.
“I think you’re ready Will.” Vecna purrs in Will’s ear. Will wants to scream.

Summary
“I didn’t mean to.” Will says in a small voice.
“I know buddy. I know. I don’t blame you. It’s not your fault. He was a bad guy anyway ok?” Dustin says reassuringly.
Will shakes his head and looks down. Tears fall faster down his cheeks.“We need to get out of here. Find the others, ok?” Dustin leans over to catch Will’s gaze. Dustin helps him stand, the metal chair creaks slightly under the shift in weight. Dustin supports him around the waist and slings Will’s right arm around his shoulders. He bends down to snatch a keycard from the corpse on the floor.
The pair awkwardly hobble to the door.
Dustin presents the stolen card to the reader and waits for it to flash green. He opens the door slowly. It creaks, loud in the otherwise barren room.
Dustin strains his neck and peaks down the hallway.
Oh god.It's a bloodbath.

If this were the last night of our lives, you would tell me how you feeling. If we don't make it out alive, I'm scared of what if our futures, they never collide. If this were the last night, the last night of our lives? by MoNsTeRsAmOnGMeN

Summary
He wished—God, he wished—that Mike was looking at him because he still cared. Because he missed him. Because he still saw him the way Will saw Mike every time he drifted too close. But Will had forfeited the right to want that. El was his sister. Mike was…Mike. And Will’s longing had always felt like a betrayal, a quiet, awful selfishness.
***
Mike had lost track of how many times he’d muttered Where the hell is he now? in the last thirty-six hours. It had become a refrain, a pulse, a constant grinding irritation in the back of his skull—not at Will, never at Will, but at the universe for apparently conspiring to pull Will in six different directions until there was nothing left of him.
....
“You’ve been through worse,” Will had said, and Mike had almost snapped at him right then. Worse didn’t matter. Comfort didn’t matter. Mike didn’t need the bed. Will did. Will needed sleep, warmth, a pillow, someone physically forcing him horizontal—
And instead Will got…this. A cold spot on the floor and the stupid conviction that he didn’t deserve more.Bookmarked by Doddilyn
