    Tim knew he was jumpy and on edge, like he was always expecting someone to come from just out of sight. He knew that he was noticing things lately, little details that he had never noticed before, that didn’t seem to add up. He knew that even when Bart and Cassie were running around and screaming at the top of their lungs, Young Justice headquarters felt a little bit too quiet. He just didn’t know why it was happening. The League of Assassins wasn’t after him, there was no drama in his personal life, most of the major supervillains were locked up, and there weren’t any drugs he knew of that could produce these specific symptoms and no others.

    AKA - Kon gets erased from reality, and Tim keeps trying to figure out why there are so many weird gaps in his life.

    Standalone fic set in my Athene Noctua universe

    "Boo."

    He does not startle, too well-trained for it, but he doesn't turn around just yet. He adjusts his jacket, feigning disinterest, until the person behind him rolls their eyes - he feels it through the air - and instead moves in front of him, so they're faced each other.

    Rachel Elizabeth Dare is dressed in a silk mint jumpsuit, hair up in a bun pinned with a gold hair clip shaped like a leaf, and her eyes are sparkling with mischief. The jumpsuit is cut in a way that makes it look like there's a skirt layered over it, probably the only reason she was allowed to wear it, and earrings dot the side of her head in gold and green. A snake bracelet along with several other bangles decorate her arms, and on her middle finger lies a sole ring.

    AKA, Damian is a demigod, Rachel is the Oracle, and Duke would like to know why both of them seem scarily in tune with the future.

    "How old are you anyway?"

    Bruce smirks a little, “Pretty old.”

    “How old am I?” Dick rephrases the question. Realistically, given the lines on Bruce's face and the grey in his hair, he has to be more than a decade or two in the future. But, well, Dick's still reeling from being twelve. He can't begin to imagine a world where there's anything past tomorrow.

    Bruce's smirk sinks a little, but not quite to a frown. It's a distant smile, fighting through the shadows of whatever it is Bruce sees when he looks down at him. In a quiet, mournful tone, he says, “Not that old. Not old at all.”

    (A young Robin and Nightwing swap places; Batman is always the constant.)
