Phenominal. Absolutely worth all 222k words. Shane is drafted to the Raiders a year after Ilya, and they live in the same apartment building. They get closer, sooner, and their rocky patches affect them and the team more than in canon. Lots of angst but also lots of love.

Summary
When Steve gets trapped in the Upside Down, Vecna offers him a deal: become lieutenant of the monster armies and gain some of Vecna’s power, in exchange for being the bait to lure his friends back to rescue him. Steve takes the deal, believing wholeheartedly in the Party’s ability to save him and finally kill Vecna, but discovers quickly that his power to infiltrate the memories and dreams of people in the real world is very limited; in fact, he can only visit one person in his new monster form.
Thus begins Steve’s haunting of Eddie Munson, who, coincidentally, has been in love with Steve since they started secretly hooking up after a Halloween party in 1984.
Or: Steve is Kas, and also Eddie's secret boyfriend.

Phenominal. Secret relationship pre-S3. Vecna traps Steve in the upside down and makes him monstrous as a tool to destroy everyone and everything. He teaches Steve to visit others' minds. He and the Party *could* plan for Vecna's defeat, except Vecna invades Steve's mind for all of his thoughts every time he comes back from a "visit."
Each chapter is half in the present, half in the past. Most of the present is Steve POV; most of the past is Eddie POV. Featuring Wayne as Steve's found family, Eddie as smitten, Steve as a Brave Boy, and the Party as hilarious as always.
