Ron Weasley dies during the Second War. Death comes to collect him but instead of finality, he offers a wager over a chess. If Ron wins, he may go back and change everything.
Ron wins and respawns as his six-year-old self.
Unfortunately, that self comes with war flashbacks, a front row seat to how badly everything went the first time, and the deeply unpleasant realisation that his entire family is basically walking into a slaughterhouse if he doesn’t intervene.

When Lily Potter first heard that Voldemort wanted her son dead, she did what she had always done: she made plans to keep him safe. And when those plans fail, she makes plans to get him back.
OR:
Harry Potter dies. His mother goes mad with grief. She hunts down Death and pleads for the return of her son. Not knowing what Death looks like, she mistakes Death's curious Master as Death himself. To her benefit, Harry Potter (who does not reveal his identity, but you'll guess it anyway so I don't feel bad spoiling) is all too happy to help her kidnap Harry Potter from another universe to be raised by Lily and James.
Lighthearted with moodiness (because I can't not include angst in my fics) and occasional emotional moments. I've had the idea turning around in my head for awhile and decided I might as well start writing it. I mean really -- what chaos could a tiny Master of Death cause in a world where he doesn't belong?

He can't keep down the anger anymore, or the fear, or the feeling that without the party, without people to help him, he is so unbelievably weak.
Until he's bitten by a spider, and everything changes very, very, fast.
Will's not a superhero. He has no reason to be a superhero. But for the first time in his life, he is the one doing the saving, and that changes everything.

After the world nearly ended, something as simple as Senior Year in high school feels too normal. That's before Jonathan meddles in his brother's life, making Will promise to be more honest, brave, and to start asking important questions. He knows Will deserves more, and it's a matter of pushing his brother to want it.
Will learns how much communication makes a difference in his life. Everything ever left unsaid about the painting, the rain fight, the awkwardness in Lenora, his so-called 'Tammy', and much more, allows him to heal, and to learn.

Will froze. His blood turned to ice water.
He slowly detached his hands from the boy in front of him—the one who was currently staring back at Will with a dazed, stupidly lovestruck expression that Mike Wheeler had never, in his entire life, directed at him. This wasn't Mike. Mike didn't look at him like .... that.
Will turned toward the voice. Sure enough, the real Mike stood near the staircase, clutching a duffel bag and glaring at the two of them, his eyebrows knit together in a familiar, sharp-edged scowl.
Will looked from the boy in front of him to the Mike by the stairs. Then back again. It was like a glitch in the universe. They were spitting images—the same face, two entirely different souls.
"Oh boy," Will whispered, his face heating up until it felt like it might actually catch fire.
Will Byers was screwed.

Summary
Mike doesn’t say anything. Not at first. Suspended in disbelief, Mike stares down at the weight in his arms, at what was once Will but is now just a body, with wide, unseeing eyes.
And with that realisation, something anguished and animal-like inside Mike tears loose.
This isn’t Will, not anymore.
He screams and screams until his voice gives out, until he’s sobbing soundlessly, shoulders shaking with the force of his tears. Then he hunches over Will’s body and refuses to let anyone take him away from him.
Time drags on, the sun sinking until it disappears behind the horizon. Still, Mike doesn’t let go. It’s only at nightfall, when Mike’s arms have gone numb and he’s trembling from exhaustion, that they manage to pry Will from him.
The sound he makes when Will is lifted from the cradle of his arms is worse than any scream. Mike reaches out instinctively, fingers grasping at the empty air, closing on nothing.
Because there’s nothing left for him to hold.
Will is gone.
Or the fic where Will dies in Mike’s arms…
