Olruggio never made a big deal about the money his specialized commissions got him. They got what they needed, and some extra at that. To the others, however, it is quite a revelation.

There's Yuuji. Already awake.
Hanging out in sweats and a thin shirt that definitely belongs to Megumi. His hair’s a little wild and tufted, which means he showered. He never dried his hair with a blow dryer, always rubbing his head roughly with a towel.
Most importantly, his scent is a tangy citrus spice, like the honey apple ginger tea he'd made for Megumi a few weeks ago.
Sweet on his tongue, he breathes in and feels his heart pang.
He missed him so much.
Megumi comes home in the morning, tired and missing his mate.

Satoru tips his chin up, “Suguru,” He feels hopeful, he thinks he’s won. Satoru’s looking at what’s in front of him, finally. Suguru reaches, he almost smiles, “Suguru, I love you. I really love you, but this..” He stutters, his fingers flinch before they reach Satoru’s cheeks, “None of this is for you.”
“You’re lying. You’re obsessed with me.”
Satoru speaks very calmly, enunciating clearly, as if he really doesn’t want to repeat his words, “This is the most important thing.”
“More important than your life?”
This fucking ritual that Satoru loathes so much, the thing that has its claws curling in so deep they’re poking back through the flesh. The most important thing, Satoru says, like it’s not an obsession drenched in carrion.
“More important than me?”
Or Satoru curses himself at death, tailoring his own hell to save the first person he let down.
It’s a difficult endeavour for someone selfish and unwilling with a faulty moral compass.
This has become my Magnum Opus
