Tyler’s expression didn’t change. “Aren’t you?”
“No.” Will said it too fast and he knew it. “No. We’re not anything. We’re teammates and friends. That’s it.”
“Okay,” Tyler said, very calmly. “Then why do you look like someone who just lied to himself?”
“I’m not…” Will exhaled hard through his nose. “You know what? You know, I don’t have to have feelings for everyone I sleep with, and I don’t have to sleep with everyone I have feelings for.” He said it like he was pulling it out of somewhere he’d stored it, something he’d been keeping in his back pocket for exactly this kind of conversation. “Those two things can just coexist, without it being some big thing.”
Toffoli was quiet for a moment.
Then he said, very carefully: “Think about what you just said.”
