During an adventure, Morty ends up accidentally touching an alien plants, even after Rick had insistently warned him to make sure to stay away from the local flora because it could potentially react poorly with their human biology. The lack of immediate effects pushes the teen not to mention, but in the following days something change: Morty's senses start to get sharper and sharper.
At first, it seems like a gift and Morty finds it easy to use his new abilities to his own advantage. However, when the effects keep getting worse and worse, he found himself faced with an increasingly more painful sensory overload. And there's only one person he can turn to for help.Written for the RnM Bookclub prompt event.

During one of his and Rick's adventures, Morty accidentally gets infected by the parasitic spores of an alien plant. Trying to hide the symptoms becomes harder and harder as the illness progresses, especially after Summer catches him coughing up blood and petals in the middle of the night.
The treatment turns out not to be extremely complicated to get...But is it really, when you are in denial about who is the person you truly need to turn to for it?

At the next lingering glance, Alastor leans back in his chair, crossing one leg over the other. The action clearly makes Vox regret looking, and he snaps his gaze back to Valentino so quickly he may have pulled a muscle. Time to strike.
“Is it working?”
The way Vox tenses at Alastor’s question is gratifying, almost as much as the look of utter confusion on his face when he turns back. “What?”
“Is it working? This little demonstration—is it making you feel powerful?”
