Instead of Jack seeing the scans by mistake, the plan to coerce him to remove Ben’s tumor fails simply because Juliet can’t get through to him. With time running out, Ben puts Jack to work building the runway and brings Kate into the aquarium, intending for Juliet to find some way to convince her to convince Jack—if all else fails, by (duplicitously) promising her a spot on the submarine plus Others-funded legal protection back in the real world. But Kate has something else in mind, and something else in store.
