Summary
During the course of Chains of Eternity, I found the dynamic of Cyran vs. Merlin too good to ignore. Speculations have followed.
Consider this some expanded dialog between the two of them, some fleshed out additions giving the pair more of a chance to banter, among other things. I tried, very hard, not to veer too off course from the tangible lore we were given. Some scenes have been tweaked, others have been added, but my goal was to create something that still fit the course of the chapter. That being said, I don't think the lore will ever confirm Merlin/Cyran, but that doesn't mean I will not indulge myself, and hopefully indulge you in the process.

Summary
The Warrior of Light has given herself to serving in the Imperial Army, all in an effort to relay information to her Scions and see the Empire crumble from within. Though it perhaps works too well when she finds herself in the Imperial throne room being offered a position as the Emperor's bodyguard. By the Emperor's side her cover grows yet more precarious, especially given Solus' surprising and strange affinity for her. An affinity that she finds she also shares in.

Summary
One day all eyes are on her, expectantly watching and anticipating news of her upcoming engagement, and the next, through nothing but a series of unfortunate circumstances, they are on her for a very different reason. Scandals spread faster than the best of news, and assumptions have a tendency to stick around, becoming almost impervious to the truth. It's a lesson Eliza learns in the harshest way possible.

Summary
Garlemald's conquest is at its peak following the Seventh Umbral Calamity. With Doma on the brink of ruin, a peace treaty is negotiated in which the highest ranking female member of the Doman Royal Family shall marry Emperor Solus zos Galvus. Instead, Doma sends the Warrior of Light to impersonate said royalty, spy on Garlemald, and eventually assassinate the emperor.

Purple and gold eyes both blink at that last statement.
"No 'suitable' persons?" The owner of the first set echoes her words. Why, she wonders, does that sound like he's taken insult where there is none to be had?
"Meaning what exactly?"
"Meaning no compatible partners in which to share my bed with." Vala snaps at Emet-Selch and his damnable questions. "I will not take just anyone to soothe the burn; to be invited is to be acknowledged as someone safe, someone who can be trusted when my people are at our most vulnerable."
