    Here's the thing about Clark Kent that nobody knew:
    He had rules.
    Not the kind of rules his parents had taught him—be kind, work hard, use your abilities to help people. Those were givens, baked into his DNA (or whatever passed for DNA in a Kryptonian). No, these were different. These were survival rules, developed over years of trial and error, designed to keep him sane in a world where he would never quite belong.

    Clark Kent is perfect, ridiculously good looking, and completely commitment-phobic—he has to be, so he can be the Superman everyone needs. Until he meets Lois Lane, who fucks everything up in less than 24 hours—except she doesn’t remember any of it.

    *AU but LOTS of references/rewrites of canon. Very loosely based on 50 First Dates - but without the gross stuff, more of an Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind homage // prev titled ‘can’t live in a world where you don’t love me’
