Ilya’s heart shattered. Tears sprang to his eyes, and he buried his face in Shane's neck to hide them, kissing him and whispering how much he loved him as Shane whined and begged and whimpered for something he couldn’t give him. It lasted for hours, no matter how hard Ilya fucked him or how many times he used the knotting toy. Shane was delirious, could not seem to comprehend that Ilya was a Beta, no matter how many times he reminded him, apologized to him, begged him with his eyes to please stop. When Shane finally passed out, Ilya sat up staring at the wall for hours.
He’d finally figured it out, the one thing he could never give Shane, no matter how much he tried. There was no substitute, no toy that could compare. Ilya was lacking, and Shane knew it now, would come to his senses and realize Ilya couldn’t give him what he really needed. For the first time since his childhood, Ilya thought about dying. Not killing himself, never that, but maybe somehow going to sleep and not waking up.
Or, Beta Ilya Rozanov loves Omega Shane Hollander so much it hurts. A hit on the ice changes everything between them, but not the one thing that matters.

Summary
Husk grins against Angel’s knuckles. Really, now?
He unfurls them so the pads of his ungloved fingers rest against his lower lip, looking up at Angel. An invitation.
One that Angel takes him up on as Husk slides his other palm across Angel’s hips, slipping two claws into the slit of his dress to hook under the lace band of Angel’s thong. He rests his hand there as Angel slips two fingers into his mouth, pressing down on Husk’s tongue.
“Spoiled,” Angel mutters, petting at him. His bracelet taps against Husk’s chin as he forces his fingers in deeper. The purr rumbling through his chest isn’t worth tamping down on when he knows how much Angel loves to hear it, loves to feel it vibrating through his fingers, loves to tease him for it- “I could ruin your whole reputation,”
He could.
“The big bad Gambling Demon,” Angel says, soft and cruel. Husk purrs louder. “Acting like a bitch in heat for my fingers in his fucking mouth.”
Husk smiles around them at him, spit spilling down his chin where Angel won’t let him close his jaw entirely.
How’s that for a fucking apology.

“Oh god,” Shane whimpered. It was cold at first, a strange, solid weight settling inside him. “N-No, I can’t–!”
“Shh, don’t worry,” Ilya crooned close to his ear, the long tongue tracing the shape of it before the monster bit it lightly. “I’ll make space for it.”
(or, mermaid Shane wants to know if the stories about the ferocious sea monster is true. He gets his answer and a lot, lot more.)
