Summary
Dr. Spencer Reid knows falling in love with the BAU’s newest agent is a recipe for heartbreak. She’s smart, she’s bubbly, and she may legitimately be the most beautiful woman in the world. Plus, she doesn’t believe in love, no doubt in part to her traumatic childhood. He knows how their story ends, and as long as he can maintain their friendship, he’s ok with the pain.

Three years after their meeting, she’s lucky to consider Spencer her best friend. Not that their relationship makes much sense, since she usually doesn’t trust men and would rather spend her evenings partying than watching Dr. Who. But when a laundry list of concerning symptoms begin burdening her hang outs with Spencer, she turns to her therapist, who provides a terrifying diagnosis:
Love.
But she can’t be in love with Spencer. Love isn’t real. And even if it was, someone with her history could never be worthy of his heart.
So… there has to be a cure. Even if it’s finding him his happily ever after while she watches from the sidelines.
That’s all she deserves.

He tried fixing himself. For you. For his friends. For his goddaughter that was on the way (back then). He never did anything for him until he got to do therapy. Why was it so hard? He asked once. Why do I have to be like this?

Who am I?Some days he still felt like the little boy who would flinch whenever his dad closed the door harshly. Other days he would be the bubbly stupid friend that'd make everyone laugh. Sometimes he was the almost-corpse heaving in the desert as his blood seeped through your fingers after his biological father stabbed him.
He tried fixing himself. He couldn't because, instead of his bike, which had nothing that needed to be fixed, he was broken all over the place and the pieces were too hard to find.
