Summary
When Vi initially took on a job as an enforcer, she didn't quite picture herself falling for Sheriff Caitlyn Kiramman. However, after months of working late nights alone together, Vi finds herself deeply in love with the much older Alpha.
The problem is, Caitlyn is insistent on keeping their relationship professional. The blow comes right after they've slept together, leaving Vi with a broken heart and an unexpected pregnancy while Caitlyn is off perusing their co-worker, Maddie.
Although Vi is ready and willing to handle things on her own, Caitlyn suggests that they marry and raise their child together. It won't be easy, considering their history together, but they're both willing to give their relationship a second chance.

What starts out as an unlikely friendship between the sharp shooter, promising young woman and the no good fighter girl from the lanes soon blossoms into a friendships neither of them knew they needed.
When they are torn apart however, the relationship grows strained, and the girls become no more than strangers with a familiar name.
Will they be able to reconcile the relationship they once had? Or did their differences make them destined for failure from the start?

Summary
Six months after Vi's life falls apart, Jinx goes to check on her sister and finds her in a bad place. Out of some sense of loyalty and love, she invites Vi on a trip to Viktor's cult without reason - but when they start traveling, she notices Vi muttering to herself and flinching at nothing. As time goes on, Jinx watches Vi slip off the deep end and lose her mind, talking to thin air, constantly disoriented and confused, hitting and hurting herself when upset, and refusing to eat, drink, or sleep, and she decides to take Vi back to Zaun and a familiar environment in the hopes of bringing her back to normal. On the way back, Caitlyn shows up, her men having alerted her that something was wrong with Vi, and (after a brief catfight with Jinx) takes her back to the Kiramman home for treatment, where she and Jinx (mostly) set aside their differences and work together trying to bring Vi back to normal. Despite relationship tension between all three of them, Isha the only one who's not involved in some kind of argument, things start going better as all of them slowly mend their relationships and mental states.
And then they figure out that Vi's pregnant.

This fic has expanded far beyond its original scope, to the point that the stranded part isn't going to actually happen until closer to Chapter 30, so here's my attempt at a more accurate summary:
This is a story of Caitlyn and Vi on an Era of Exploration expedition ship to recover a mysterious plant from a remote island. Caitlyn is a talented but overlooked botanist, socially isolated from her peers. Vi is the ship's first mate with a bit of a chip on her shoulder, and an uncanny ability to be friendly without ever letting anyone close enough to be an actual friend.
This is a slo(ooo)w burn love story that embraces all the in-between, boring parts of life where relationships grow, so they're going to spend several chapters each being enemies, then friends, then finally learning to be lovers. They'll spend time together, they'll get to know one another, and their relationship will grow (in a way that I hope feels as authentic to you as it does to me) before their bond is ultimately tested.
There is an MCD, but it's not Caitlyn or Vi.
There is smut in this fic, but this is not a smut fic.
Also, I don't overuse the nickname "Cupcake."
