    Summary

    For all intense and purposes, the universe these characters live in is exactly the same as canon.

    With, perhaps, three key differences.

    1) Aizawa Shouta shelters a lonely kitten from a rainstorm one night.
    2) That kitten has a quirk. Said quirk allows it to turn into a young, human boy with fluffy green hair, big, emerald eyes, and the cutest of freckles.
    3) They decide to become a family.

    And really, that changes everything, doesn't it?

    Featuring fluff, both the genre and the soft texture of cat fur across a palm, Dadzawa, who is perpetually on the verge of exhaustion, and a whole lot of found family, healing, and small kitten shenanigans.

    Maybe not all Heroes need a license to be a Hero.

    One of my new favorites! Full of pathos, extremely well written. I love love LOVE Aizawa's characterization in this. I also really enjoyed the way the fic was structured, it was perfect to watch every hint slowly but surely break down. And the ending made me laugh, it was adorable. Adding this to the pile of loved fics!

    “So do I actually.” Banjo said.
    “Me too.”

    The last ones to add on were Nana and En, sounding as perplexed as all of them felt.
    Everyone looked at Hikage.
    “Oh I never had shellfish.”
    “How.”
    “Acquiring shellfish was not high on my list of priorities at the time.” Hikage said stiffly.
    Banjo raised an eyebrow. “What was on your list of priorities then?”
    “Strengthening One for All and not dying at the hands of All for One?”
    “Oh right, I forgot about that.”
    Hikage gave him an incredulous look. “How-”

    “Hey Nana.” Yoichi said conversationally. “Do you happen to know if Eighth has a shellfish allergy?”

     

    (Quirks aren't the only thing One for All is stockpiling and passing down.)

    “What was the question? Something about their quirk?”

    Izuku’s shoulders dropped slightly.

    “I asked them if someone without a quirk could become a hero.”

    Stendhal-san snorted. Izuku’s shoulders nearly covered his ears. He knew, he heard it from All Might already, he didn’t need to have Stendhal-san repeat it, too-

    “Obviously,” Stendhal-san said, leaning back on his arms. “Quirks are merely tools; plenty of heroes have perfect quirks and not an ounce of heroism in their blood. You’re already more of a hero than numbers 2 through 10, combined.”

    Izuku could feel the tears slipping down his cheeks, sobbing at the words he had been yearning to hear for so long.

    “Did they- did they not say that?” Stendhal-san asked, startled by Izuku’s reaction.

    Or, in other words: the five times Izuku learned something about Stendhal-san, and the one time he got to use everything he knew.

    OMG I LOVE!! This is so good, I am absolutely enjoying this dynamic so much. It's not very explored within the fandom, but the idea is so entertaining and very well executed. The split timeline hooked me in and held me in suspense, keeping me invested through the entire story.

    "You do not have any kind of teaching qualification, do you Yagi-san?"
    Toshinori squirms in his seat under Nedzu's beady gaze, his legs awkwardly cramped in the small chair.
    "No..." he admits shamefully, "but I could-!"
    The principal puts up a paw and shakes his head, "I cannot jeopardize the teaching of my students just to have you find a successor, no."
    Nedzu's eyes shimmer in a way that leaves Toshinori distinctly unsettled, "Tell me, Yagi-san. What kind of volunteering have you done before?"
    He rushes to comply, very sure that Nedzu would manage to do something entirely unsettling again if he stalled too long, "I've done stuff with soup kitchens-"
    "No time to get you qualifications for that."
    "I've done fundraising-"
    "Not applicable."
    "I, um, merchandising?"
    He pointedly looks at Toshinori's outfit (pin striped yellow slacks and a coral pink shirt), and he continues hastily, "I've done visits to hospitals-"
    "Also not applicable."
    "I, um," he desperately grabs at straws, "cleaning? I've done. Cleaning."

    All Might, or rather, Yagi Toshinori, becomes a janitor at U.A. It goes much better than expected.

    This is absolutely WHOLESOME!! I enjoyed this fic so much, there were a bunch of scenes that just absolutely squeezed my whole heckin heart. I love the author's take on Izuku and his selfless kindness, Yagi's bumbling yet earnest advice and just all around personality. Plus, the scene on the beach between the two of them was so GOOD. The whole fic was worth its weight in gold for that scene alone. Plus the fic was light hearted and so sweet :')
