Summary
Power, perfection, authority: the mantra of the immutable Gem Empire, its will a palpable force holding the infinite masses in check. Difference, disobedience, inadequacy: a death sentence to any fool enough- or unfortunate enough, to be found out. On Earth, a song and dance and heartfelt plea might have won over tired, derided gems, the loyalty woven into their very souls worn thin by the endless ages, but Homeworld is not Earth. And for Steven, torn away from those he loves and trapped in a rose-tinted cage, forced into the image of a mother he never knew, it is nothing short of a nightmare.

Summary
Although the hourglass that brought him to the past has been fixed, Twoie has decided not to go home just yet. His world is peaceful due to the end of the second gem war and the redemption of the diamonds. Both events have yet to occur in Steven's time. What kind of older brother would he be if he didn't stick around to help his little brother and their family out? With the war beginning to escalate Twoie and Steven will soon be facing trials that are harder than ever. They will have to rely on help from each other and their ever-growing family to survive.
A story partially based on requested episodes (Seasons 4 and 5) in Steven Universe continuing from the end of Templeschool. I also do alternate chapter endings that will be posted on my story "What If?" upon request.

It seems completely impossible and yet somehow it's true. Short on a newly required one hundred hours of community service it looks as if Connie isn't going to graduate high school!
Unable to find an opening anywhere else this late in the school year and desperate to get back on the fast track to college, when Steven suggests she spend her volunteer hours working at Little Homeschool Connie reluctantly agrees.
After all, she's only got a few months left until graduation and working for the Gems won't be too hard... right?
