Mike sat in the chair by Max’s bed. Lucas could only be convinced to go home a few times a week. The party had begun to take shifts, making sure Lucas got sleep and Max always had company and music. Mike volunteered as often as he could.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t here.” He murmured. “I wasn’t much use in California. Maybe I could have done more here.” Max seemed to be telling him to shut up and stop bringing the pity party to her bedside, So Mike apologised quietly, sat back in the chair, turned on her Tape, and began to tell Max about his day. “I finally took some of your advise.”
Our table at school seems so empty without you. More than it did before.

The rain came down in thick, relentless sheets, drenching Tim to the bone long before he even reached the house. Wind howled through the trees, rattling the iron gate behind him, and each gust sent icy water running down the back of his neck. He could barely hear his own footsteps over the storm, but he didn’t need to—he knew where he was going.
Wayne Manor loomed ahead, dark against the night sky, its towering silhouette broken only by the faint glow of a few scattered lights in the windows. The massive oak doors stood at the top of the stone steps, intimidating and unmoving, just as they had always been.
He should have brought an umbrella. Anyone with half a brain would have.
____Tim Drake knows he’s not like Batman, or like the old Robins. He’s not supposed to be.
But someone has to save Gotham, and someone has to remember why.

"You're forgiven," Tim said, his tone even and utterly devoid of feeling.
Kon blinked. "What?"
"You're forgiven," Tim repeated, as if confirming a simple fact. "And you were right. About the labs. It was a violation... You were correct to call it out."
"No," Kon whispered, shaking his head. "No, I wasn't right. I was a jerk—"
"It's handled," Tim interrupted, his voice still flat. "I've taken care of it. All of it."
...
"It won't hurt anymore," Tim said, and for a fleeting second, there was something in his eyes. A flicker of profound, unsettling certainty. "It won't hurt anyone. Ever again."

Kon has been dead for 2 years. Tim tried and failed to clone him, and once Kon is resurrected and finds out he is repulsed.
