The growing threat in the Mirkwood Forest has the Woodland elves on high alert. While on patrol, the King's guard have brought many trespassers before him but Thranduil is surprised when his soldiers discover a weakened faerie being attacked by a human male in his lands
He finds himself enchanted by this creature, but faeries can be coy and cunning and they are different from elves, different from any creature Thranduil has ever known. Amelina possesses whimsical, childlike qualities that stand in stark contrast to the reserved, stoic demeanor of the militant Mirkwood elves and Thranduil finds himself strangely attracted to her.
Faerie's are rare and are considered a prized possession among all of the races. Amelina is worth more than precious gems or gold. This is the harsh reality of her situation and she know this well, too well. She has no more reason to trust the ElvenKing then he has to trust her.

This is absurd, of course, Hermione would never hurt those she fought in the war with. She would rather die or starve than be swayed into attacking her own side. She cannot imagine any of them would hurt her either.

Tom allowed a genuine smile past his bloody lips as he raised his slender fingers to his gaze. Miss Granger really ought to curb such a self destructive habit, digging her fingernails into her palm like a reprimanded child?
How very unladylike.
Tom pressed his fingers to his nose, smelling her sweet scent of copper and iron. He could hardly suppress a moan as he breathed her in deeply.
He traced those two, bloody fingers across his lips, allowing his and hers to intermingle in an intimate act of which one party was not privy to. Tom couldn’t quite bring himself to care, his tongue darting out to taste her, despite himself overeager at the thought of her on his tongue. A groan escaped his throat, low and guttural as he dipped his fingers into his mouth, swirling her there like a fine wine.
Hermione Granger tasted positively divine.

Not knowing how she got there and for what purpose, she joins force with Dumbledore to find a way back to the future, back to the battle of Hogwarts. During her stay she gets close to people she has always thought of as evil, only to discover that even monsters can have many layers. Will she be able to save the future in the past?

He stepped closer still, to murmur directly into her ear. “Please - be very careful throwing around accusations like that.”
His warm breath ghosted over the shell of her ear. Hermione suppressed a shiver.
Every sense in her body was screaming danger.
