Eventually, it occurred to Obi-Wan that figuring out Luke's motives might be some sort of test. Simply understanding that it was a test would mean accepting that Luke was a teacher.
But, when Obi-Wan addressed Luke as 'Master Luke,' Luke simply shook his head and said, "I'm not a Jedi, and I don't own you."

Summary
After, Mace could never put his finger on the moment when his life swerved into the absurd. Jedi were not supposed to have nemesises. Nemesi? Even the word was ludicrous and implied a level of inappropriate attachment.
And that was without addressing the flirtation. That part was definitely inappropriate.

“Great, you’re in,” the Jedi says. “Welcome to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Mrs. Lars. Your quarters and uniform will be assigned to you shortly. Padawan Skeft will be here to escort you, please wait on the other side of this door.”
Shmi stands and nearly tumbles over herself.
“That’s it?” She asks, straightening her dress and bag.
The Jedi sniffs.
“That’s it,” they says. “You can—“
“I thought it would be more difficult to persuade you,” Shmi says.
“Ma’am,” the Jedi sighs, “We are an equal opportunity employer. Through the door, please.”(Shmi Skywalker is assaulted by too-real visions of her grandson in pain in the future. She gets a job at the Jedi Temple in order to prevent that from happening and soon after finds herself on a warship.)

"Why don't you come with us?" Han asks. "You're pretty good in a fight. I could use you."
Luke's first impulse is to refuse on principle, strong feelings of adventure, duty, and revenge making it seem like no choice at all. He bites down on that impulse, stops, and really thinks about it.
