The man’s eyes burned like embers. “Well, we’re going to save the Hero of Amestris, unlike you. We’re going to bring back the Fullmetal Alchemist.”
Edward Elric was dead. Like, fully dead. Heart no longer beating, massive blood loss, soul exiting this mortal plane, type of dead. However, that apparently wasn’t enough to make him stop existing. Ed just wants to rest goddamnit, but Truth is being a right bastard about the whole situation.
...
Or, Ed dies, but unbeknownst to his friends and family, his soul sticks around. He makes do for several years — until an alchemist performs human transmutation to try and bring him back to life. The crazy thing is… it works.

Summary
If Daichi were to describe rural Aomori diplomatically, he might mention the meditative calm of the quiet coastline or the relaxing pace of life in the country. If Daichi were to describe rural Aomori honestly, however, he would be compelled to admit that staying out here in the middle of nowhere with his cranky aunt has him out of his mind with boredom. Between refereeing borderline-fratricidal altercations amongst his equally bored siblings and listening to his aunt bicker incessantly with her geriatric neighbour over hydrangea pruning, Daichi is ready to rule this the Most Tedious Summer Break of All Time.
And then he meets the neighbour's grandson. Who happens to be the ex-captain of a certain rival Tokyo team. The same ex-captain that Daichi has been thinking about incessantly since he graduated high school. And suddenly Daichi's summer break gets a lot more interesting.

Tobio runs by himself every day. Even though he can't shake off that awful feeling that something's closing in on him, he still does it. It's habit now.
When he gets a phone call that Hinata Shouyou is thinking of coming to Italy, Tobio feels like he has to run even faster.
(Or: Tobio has a month to prepare himself before his high school rival comes to visit him. They haven't spoken to each other for two years, and Tobio can't even remember what food Hinata likes. He's got a lot to think about.)
