Still, the room was spinning around them and they were panting from the strain of forcing their muscles to cooperate enough to keep them upright. They honestly did not think they would manage to stay standing for much longer without taking a break.

Angel, but they would have to sit on the bed! Why was this their life?? Every breath in and out felt like knives tearing through their throat. They did not deserve to sit down, especially not next to him. And why was there no visitor's chair, anyway? Rudy had one!
Their knees wobbled and they instinctively flung out an arm towards the wall to steady themself. Yeah, no, they had to sit down for a while. They couldn't even feel the wall against the palm of their hand. They just... They just had to sit by the foot of the bed. It was fine. They were cool about this. It was fine to take a break next to the guy they had potentially put into a coma, if not something worse. Everything was fine.

Summary
The Angel always knew that this day would come. Banishment has always been an inevitability, so there is no reason to feel bad about it happening now. After a harrowing battle against the Knight, the Angel realizes that they are unwanted within this story. They have already been taught many times that at some point, it is time to let go of a world. This is how it must be. If Kris does not want them, then it must be time. After all, if their vessel does not want them, isn't the only winning move not to play?
With the Angel disconnected, Kris and Susie descend into a Dark World without knowing what fate has just befallen the world. The light that shines the way is gone, and not a single person knows why. The world moves on anyway while Kris, Susie, and Ralsei are all caught in the aftermath of the Angel's swift decision. Even with the light no longer shining brightly, maybe something can be salvaged from the dark.
