This follows the events before, during and after Kaebedos wedding.

Summary
It's not as if he was an enigma, Albedo could almost guarantee that there were probably other idiots out there in the world that acted like this.
But he's stuck with this one. What a great situation he's in. With the famed Cavalry Captain sitting on a rock within the cave of his laboratory. He wasn't quite sure why Kaeya was in Dragonspine, nor did he really care to find out. Only that he's here and that he’s interrupting his work.
Kaeya, to his credit, has expressed that he's only seeking shelter from the blizzard. Smart idea, the cave was genius for this reason, Albedo could work while the weather could be as temperamental as it wanted. However, it's not ideal right now. Because it also means that Kaeya would seek shelter. How irritating.

‘Congratulations.’ Diluc said, a little more formal this time. ‘I’m happy for you.’
The two of them remained standing there awkwardly, unsure of what to do. Under normal circumstances, perhaps two brothers would hug, go for a drink, discuss wedding plans…
In their case however, Kaeya had no idea what “normal” was. Just a few months ago Diluc would have thrown flames in his particular direction and told him to get out.
And yet, Kaeya was about to test the waters even further with what he was about to request next.
(Screw that, he wasn’t just testing the waters, he was actively swan-diving towards his doom.)
‘I’d like you to be there—’ he started.
‘I’d like that.’ Diluc replied, not even allowing Kaeya to finish his sentence.
‘…as my best man.’
If the silence from before had been unbearable, this one was positively murderous. Kaeya could practically feel his soul leaving his body, floating all the way up to Celestia, only to be denied and thrown into the Abyss instead.
‘...Okay.’

Summary
The walls look like they’re melting at the edges, the patterns and gold embellishments foreign but not. The curtains are the wrong shade, a darker hue than it should be, the couches strangely more plush than he recalls. His knees just sink right in and he feels as if he may drown in the fabric if not for the strong body keeping him upright, the man whose lap Sunday is sitting in like a pampered pet, perched and proud.

Deep in the Fortress of Meropide, beneath the watchful eyes of both Celestia and the Sovereign, something stirs to life once more.
Following the events of the flood, Wriothesley discovers new depths of the Fortress, unseen since it’s inception. As if that wasn’t enough to deal with already, Neuvillette has been distant since Furina’s trial, the heavens raining down enough to threaten another flood.
So he investigates both things, at the same time of course. Wriothesley is nothing if not resourceful after all.
