Summary
Although I expect canon Caine to at some point beg for the group’s forgiveness for withholding stuff from them, (whether that goes successfully or not) I want to explore a potential thread where he shows the same stubbornness that he’s exhibited throughout the series. We’ve (probably) learned that he is insanely desperate to be friends with the humans, but on the other hand, even though I personally think that the dinner was 95% genuine, what if it wasn’t. What if he was at least partly play-acting for the adventure plot?
I do not think this story is going to be concurrent with the OneShot “The Aviary”, but who knows. My Muse is . . . temperamental sometimes.
