    What would you do in the villain’s place?

    An adult consciousness wakes in the body of three-year-old Joffrey Baratheon. He's armed with foreknowledge and a lifetime's worth of experience… and it is not enough. He is still Cersei's son, still Robert's "heir," and still sitting on a secret that could kill him and everyone he loves. And the more he builds to protect himself, the more he has to lose. This is a story about governance and grief, about the cost of necessary choices, and about what it means to love people who have the power to destroy you.

    It is also, somewhat accidentally, the tale of how King Joffrey I Baratheon completely revolutionized the Westerosi shipbuilding industry, and with it altered the balance of power across the entire known world.

    Summary

    The first story is the origin story for my characters which has been an exploration of pretty much every mercyfic trope I can squeeze in there.

    It features a Prince who give himself up in surrender to the Emperor of a warring country to save his people and the brother of that Emperor who he is married to as part of the surrender.

    Anything after that is little stories showing snippets of their life together.

    There is another garden, in India. These are the women of that garden, over two generations, Mary's mother and ayah, and both their two daughters. In the end, I'm afraid, this is only where the story begins, but I hope it opens up the original story and takes us out into the world beyond the secret gardens.

    I'm afraid the closest I've been to India is the websites I used researching this, so if there are any glaring botanical, linguistic or cultural errors, let me know and I'll fix them.

    Thor takes a good look at Loki once he has hauled him back onto the quinjet, and realizes that there is something odd about Loki's eyes. Thor has grown and changed much in the last year, and no longer takes anything for granted. So he starts asking questions. It doesn't take long to figure out that Loki is not acting of his own free will.

    Tony Stark knows what it is to be forced to do as an enemy commands. Steve Rogers has seen the atrocities manipulative madmen are willing to commit. Clint, Logan, Bruce and Natasha have been subjected to said madmen. They all know what it is to lose themselves, and to seek redemption.

    Together, this band of broken heroes draws a line in the sand. They will not tolerate any tyrant, foreign or domestic. That includes Nick Fury and the WSC, who have used everyone on the team for their own aims. It includes Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross, who has hunted Bruce against all reason. It includes Odin, who treats his sons like commodities. And it includes Thanos, who has delusions of conquering Earth.

    Along the way, they learn to trust each other. They learn to help each other. They become a family.
