Dan has become more comfortable being affectionate with Arin in public. This excites Arin, but he tries to not let it phase him too much because they’re usually small things like a brush of a shoulder or a longing look, and he doesn't want to scare Dan by becoming too happy and in love while people can see them.
Now, Dan has taken initiative during a TMPH while the camera is rolling and the footage is actually going to be put on YouTube. This action causes Arin to talk to Dan about the question they've been dancing around the entire time they've been dating. Are they ready to go public?

Recording has always been the easy part.
On camera, Arin knows exactly who he is — loud, confident, quick with a joke. He knows how to make Dan laugh. He knows where they stand.
It’s when the episode ends that things start to blur. When there’s no bit to fall back on, no audience, no structure to hide behind. Just the two of them, sitting in the quiet, and the growing sense that something between them isn’t as simple as it used to be.
