Summary
The crew of the Hermes has successfully gotten Mark Watney off of Mars, but even though they have won one battle they may have lost the war. Between the effects of starvation, radiation, martian sand, and low gravity Dr. Chris Beck can't help but wonder if they had rescued the botanist just to have him die on the way back or worse in reentry. Still, if the crew of Ares III proven anything to the world it is that they were not going to give up one their crewmate. They would not loose Watney again without a fight.
