Summary
Jack Abbot is a single father with a growing boy. Dennis was placed into his hands when someone had left baby Dennis at the hospital. As the night shift ER attending, Jack barely has time to take care of himself, let alone a baby.
Years later, the now ten year old Dennis demands more than just jar marina and boxed pasta. At the end of his whits, Jack Abbot takes up morning cooking classes to better take care of his son and his own aging body.
Michael Robinavitch, aka Chef Robby, is a strict instructor at the local community college in Pittsburg. Students are held to the same standards as in a culinary school. Chef Robby never expected a middle aged father to come in all hopeless without a damn clue about heating a pan to temperature. Summary
When Jack gets a letter in the mail inviting him to the American Veterans Ball, he stresses out about going alone and decides the best course of action is to ask Robby to go as his plus one and pretend to be a couple. Robby struggles to keep his pining a secret as he agrees to be stuck in D.C. with his best friend for an entire weekend.

Jack isn’t the only one staring. In the aftermath of Whitaker’s offer, Robby seems momentarily shell-shocked, and Dana whispers, “Oh, my God,” softly behind her computer.
A nauseating surge of emotion rushes through Jack’s system. He feels— stupid, like he should run over there and take Robby by the shoulders and lick him in front of everyone. All he wants is for people to know Robby is his.

Dr Michael Robinavitch was on sabbatical, travelling on his motorbike, when he came across this fallen angel, with big blue eyes and many battle scars.
