Summary
“Mr Giangio, I am not a Listener. Sophia is a Listener, I am just a puppet, not a human. I can’t…”
He didn’t get to finish, the butterfly on his fingers taking flight to circle his head once then land on his opposite shoulder, before climbing up to rest on his temple, like a strange bow in his hair. A wing brushed his cheek as tickly feet prickled their way up his jaw and ear and the man across from him actually laughed, hand lifting too late to hide the oddly sharp flash of teeth glimpsed behind pale lips.

Summary
He’d never taken an animal of any kind through the stargazers like this, didn’t know if it was safe or even possible but he couldn’t leave them here, the frigid cold and lack of food would kill them.
He said as much to Gemini but the cricket didn’t understand, questioning the wisdom of trying to save them when they came from a monster, an unnatural byproduct of madness.
It was awkward to do with his left hand but he reached back and unclipped the lamp, holding it up to stare directly at the cricket within.
“Gemini, Father was driven by madness. Couldn’t you say the same thing about me?”

Summary
The stranger had the bluest eyes Carlo had ever seen, deep and clear with an inner sparkle that put the ergo crystals Carlo had seen in Daddy’s office to shame.
He didn’t have the words to properly describe the downright eerie feeling that ran through him when he met those eyes. It was like an icy chill breathing across his skin, yet at the same time something warm and familiar reached out and touched him on the inside.
He wanted to reach back.

Summary
"Look, there's...kind of a lot to explain. Can we come in?"
Steve should say no. The sane, normal, safe thing to do would be to say no.
"Yeah, okay," he says, instead. "Sure. Wipe your feet."
...
or, the one where Nancy and Jonathan are vampires, and Steve still tries to fight a Demogorgon for them without quite knowing what's going on, with unintended consequences.Bookmarked by Caleili

Summary
The Frog brothers don't trust Michael enough to let him in on the plan, so they drag Sam out to the lair in secret. The mission goes about as well as you'd expect from a group of teenage vampire-hunting amateurs; they miss the vital organ, they fail to rescue Star and Laddie, and they don't have a car so they have to race home on their bikes.
In their panic, the boys don't notice that none of the vampires are chasing them. In fact, they spend the entire night ready for a fight that never comes without realizing that none of the vampires ever tried to hurt them.
Huh.

Summary
“Our number’s on the back,” Edgar says. “Read it. And pray you never have to call us.”
“Oh, I’ll pray I never have to call you,” Sam agrees. “Because you guys have gotta be the worst vampire hunters I’ve ever heard of.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It means,” Sam says, “that you can’t be much good at it if you can’t recognise a vampire when he’s standing right in front of you.”
