It became too much, the sincerity Chris offered, the patience, the way he waited for the other shoe to drop, and Leon looked away, glancing at their joined hands, and it was then that he saw a ring on Chris' finger as well, one that matched his own. He let himself dream, for a moment, let himself fly away in search of a world where his wishes were not impossible, just another fact, and his filter crunched under the weight of it all, so he spoke next.
"Are you married?" Was the question, and Leon bit his lip, looked up and prayed for his words to pass as a joke.
As a joke they passed, because Chris laughed at his question, punching Leon's shoulder lightly.
"Yes, to an idiot." He said, laughter still a glistening shine decorating his face, making his pretty wrinkles pop.

From that point onwards, Chris became of importance. Not because Ada had found interest in him, but because he, obviously, was a fundamental part of Leon's life. She was not sure how deep their relationship ran, yet, but they did seem to have one with benefits she could only dream of relishing in.

'Hikaru' stops its walk and looks back at Yoshiki, eyebrow raised. The light of the moon darkened the shadows that danced on its face, the red of its eyes never diming, only growing deeper and brighter as it contrasted with the penumbra.
"Huh?" 'Hikaru' said, eloquence lost as Yoshiki's eyes hid behind his bangs.

'Hikaru' asks, and Yoshiki almost feels bad, but fails to do so when he realizes the wind against his back were the puffs of air 'Hikaru' expelled between words, the small proof that, despite it all, there was a living, breathing creature by his side, surrounding him, choking him from inside his own body, holding his consciousness with unsure hands and chewing at his anxiety.

“Alright. But you stay safe okay? I mean-” Eiji immediately regretted his reflexive reply to a goodbye. This wasn’t just your ordinary stranger, this was probably a powerful wizard for crying out loud.
But instead of an awkward laugh, the wizard settled with a gentle smile, the kind that reached his eyes and made the mystifying jade more brilliant than ever.
“Thanks. You stay safe too,” and with that, the wizard hopped off the balcony and vanished into the crowd below.---
In which Eiji gets cursed into a ghost, the kingdom wages war on its neighbours, and the devil wizard Ash Lynx roams the wastelands while striking fear into the strongest of hearts.
But of course, fate would see the seemingly heartless wizard fall in love with a heart that had so much to give.
