“Ah, well, I suppose I do,” she says, dabbing at her lips with her napkin. Her smile stretches. “Oh now, don't look so drab, all of you, I promise this is good news!” She pauses and fidgets with her chopsticks a little before laying them down. “Or at least, I think so.”
“I’m… seeing someone again — not your father,” she adds quickly with a smile that is half-wry, half-wistful. “We both decided we would be better off staying separated.” She visibly hesitates for a moment, her eyes darting to the side before she adds, “We’re getting a divorce.”
