The first time Arthur let him and John be separated, he did it so John could live.
That had been easier to bear. It had been a worthy sacrifice, after all.
He had missed John then, but he hadn’t had the space to truly feel it--not with Lillith filling the gnawing void in his head, not with his mind fixed on doing what was best for John--and on stopping Kayne. It had been easier to suppress the emptiness back then, when faced with such an overwhelming purpose.

It is 1934, and the Magnus Institute has not YET been infested with worms, though Mr. Blackwood surely has rambled on about them plenty to the Archivist’s horror. Jonathan Sims reads a statement about one Arthur Lester that feels far too much like a man reaching into a different sort of wasp’s nest, (or like one is reaching into HIM) though, and curiosity truly is an awful sort of thing. He’s always been quite a moth to a flame, hasn’t he?
Or; AU in which Arthur and John are part of the TMA universe but everyone is in 1934 and things get Insectoid.

But when he wakes up after burning in an old pizzeria (which clearly should have killed him), he finds himself not in his trusty old rotting corpse but on a... computer? And what was even weirder, someone was looking back at him. Someone way too familiar.
Jeremy Fitzgerald didn't want to work at Fazbear's. That much was obvious. But when he gets stuck with a job testing the new Vanny masks, he finds himself in a strange situation. Someone was on this computer. Someone who didn't belong.
Alyssa Mathews wanted no part in it. That much was obvious. But designing and building code for animatronics is what she chose for a living, and good riddance for that. So someone explain why she finds herself bumping into some very familiar faces?
Fritz Smith was happy where he was. That much was obvious. But when he starts hearing voices during what should be a short gig for Fazbear's, and damnit why are his friends everywhere and why are they all being so shifty?
Or, the masked bullies are forced to work together again decades later to stop Michael's annoyingly immortal father from killing people. Again. Chaos ensues.

Danny finds a dead man in an alleyway. Well, not an actually dead man. More like a has-been-dead-at-least-once-but-is-not-currently-dead man. And he’s maybe overshadowed? It's kind of hard to tell. His eyes are the wrong color.
