Summary
Two weeks into December, Dennis is dead on his feet. No amount of redbull could fix this tired. When he’s headed out the door, Robby asks him when he's next in. Dennis looks down at his phone to check the time and almost cries. 7 hours. That means 5 hours of sleep, max, when he accounts for the bus to the apartment he shares with Trinity, the bus back to work, and hopefully some ramen.
Robby tells him to wait while he goes to his locker. Dennis does, closing his eyes trying not to resent the way this is cutting into his sleep time. He opens his eyes when Robby presses something cold and metal into his hand, along with a post-it note.

Summary
When Dennis agreed to cover shifts for Dr. Mohan on the night shift, he didn't think he would ever end up here. Kidnapped from the ambulance bay, his head pounding, and having to save the life of a man with limited medical supplies. That was supposed to be it. Somehow, he finds himself snatched up off a sidewalk, in the stables, in front of his home. There were no sacred spaces when you proved your worth.
In the middle of it all, Dennis is confused by the way Dr. Robby and Dr. Abbot are circling him. The way they'd reach out and brush their fingers against his skin. The way they made sure he ate, got rest, and stayed safe. It made him ache with something he hadn't felt in a long time.

Summary
The moment that little girl stilled in his arms, he knew it was over. His plans were thrown out the window. It was time for him to step up for someone else again. As always, he couldn't do it for himself. Healer, heal thyself. Easier said than done.
Robinavitch was a selfish man, a perfectionist cursed with the knowledge he’d never measure up. He had done too much, lost too much, was too screwed up. Too broken to bother fixing.Baby Jane Doe? She had a fighting chance in life. He had hope for her. Maybe that was enough for him too. For now.

Summary
Jack Abbot is beyond exhausted when he finds a med student crying in the hallway. So far past dealing with the crying that he tries to convince the med student to a marriage of convenience just to stop the tears. The longer he thinks on it though, the more he realizes that marrying the little mouse, Dennis Whitaker, might actually make sense.
Robby is convinced Jack is having a mid life crisis. Or a nervous breakdown. Or petty revenge for his disappointment in Robby sleeping with Collins. Regardless, he doesn’t know how to help the med student Jack is marrying.
Dennis can’t keep doing this. He’s homeless, broke, and about to have to drop out of med school when he’s so close to finishing. If an ER attending is going to offer a guest room to crash in and covering the expenses of med school, he might just go ahead and marry him. He can always figure things out later, right?
