“I didn’t know what to say,” he mutters, voice barely a whisper. “I still don’t.”
Bernard lets out a short, bitter laugh. He runs a hand through his messy blond hair, shaking his head as if trying to shake off the weight of the moment. “Guess that makes two of us.” His smile flickers, but it’s gone too quickly. “But hey, at least I got to practice my stand-up routine texting a brick wall.”
Tim’s lips twitch despite himself. “That bad?”
“Oh, the worst,” Bernard says, his voice light, but there’s a sharpness behind it, like he’s trying to hide something. “Turns out ghosting isn’t a great audience. Zero applause, lots of awkward silences.”

Summary
Tim may or may not have woven an elaborate web of lies to tie his plan of convincing the Waynes they didn't need to adopt him together with his plan of figuring out why Jason was alive & back in Gotham without telling anyone about it. It may or may not have caught up with him multiple times over the last half hour (worst 30 minutes of Tim's life that didn't involve someone he cared about dying, if you even care.) And he's only figured out maybe half of either problem...
Jason doesn't really know what to do with the kid he has been tricked (kicking & screaming the whole way, for the record) into caring about. On the one hand, Tim is clearly delusional about his place in the family (both their places, really,) and he was still crazy enough to hire a complete stranger to pretend to be his uncle; Tim got lucky it was Jason he found first. And now Jason's cover is blown, and there is definitely a breakdown in his near future, and Tim keeps looking at him with those sad puppy eyes...
Dick just wants his baby brother safe from Gotham's newest criminal mastermind, and is probably having the worst day of all.

Summary
Tim's dad is dead, killed by a boomerang to the chest, and Tim is an orphan now. He knows Bruce would adopt him if needed but he couldn't possibly impose himself on the Wayne's more than he already has. It's okay though, because he has a plan for this, he just needs someone to play the role of his estranged "Uncle Eddie".
Except... the guy he hires is weirdly concerned about his well being and Tim can't figure out why.
Meanwhile, Jason Todd is forced to reevaluate his plans for his debut as Red Hood, because, as it turns out, his replacement is a suicidal idiot who can't be trusted to stay out of trouble.
OR
Tim Drake fails to recognize Jason Todd, back from the dead, and hires him to be his Uncle Eddie to avoid getting adopted by Batman. Somehow this ruins everyone's plans.

Summary
He leaned over the ledge of the Wayne Enterprises building and stared at the drop below. He didn’t feel scared, though he knew he should be. He felt… calm. Tired. Drained. Empty. But not afraid, not even upset or sad. He stood slowly, and his bare feet burned with the cold of the concrete. He must have forgotten his shoes in his rush.
The sound of the city floated up from somewhere far below him, and he took in a deep breath of smog-filled air. He closed his eyes. He had read that it would make it easier.
