Dark Choco was never his own person.
An extension of his parents, a tool to put into play like a chess piece. Yet it never upset him, he was content with having a set purpose.
Yet when he finds that purpose stripped away from him, he yearns to find the answer for his suffering. And that answer comes in the form of a cookie...a cookie he so deeply loves.
A cookie he loves enough to know they were doomed.

Summary
Affogato was helpless to it. He knew he couldn’t tell Dark Cacao to stay, he couldn’t let himself beg at the feet of his husband to help him weather the oncoming storm. Affogato wouldn’t allow himself to falter, to cower in the face of challenge. He had a role to play, and there was no denying its morbid importance.
_________Alternatively. What if Dark Cacao were already taking part in their arranged marriage when Pure Vanilla's letter found its way into Dark Cacao's hands? A letter containing information of an unknown evil that threatened the Dark Cacao Kingdom and the light of Resolution. Amidst his Majesty's impending departure, the Pale Ailment takes hold of their citizens.
Despite the turmoil on the horizon, Dark Cacao must away, leaving Affogato to rule over their kingdom in hopes Dark Cacao will return alive.

Summary
For the first time in their nation, the court faced the unthinkable, the possibility of a fractured succession. Dark Choco, the only heir to King Dark Cacao was still young–no more than twelve–but already bore the grim scars of battle and, more recently, a near-fatal accident that had shaken the kingdom to its core.
The council chambers rang with debate, voices overlapping like clashing blades.
Then a voice spoke–one of the oldest councilors, hunched with age but sharp in mind.
“There is precedent,” the elder said, voice dry like cracking parchment. “In times of succession crisis. An old custom, before your reign, Your Majesty. When lines were too thin, or cursed by misfortune… a second wife was permitted. For the necessity of lineage.”

.Or, Affogato is as ambitious as ever, only this time he finds different methods of securing his power over the Dark Cacao Kingdom.
