Tony processes all that a moment.
“Tony?” she asks.
“You’re at the food bank? How much do I pay you?”
She gives another little huff. “Charity, Tony. Did any of the actually important things I just said register in your brain?”
“Oh, all right. Consider it my charity work for today.”

- Another lovely fic!
- I love Peter listening to Dorothy's radio show throughout and the ending. It just really ties everything together in such a lovely way
- Amazing characterization, as always
- MJ getting spider powers and Peter being unenhanced was a fun deviation from the norm. And I love that Peter's still spiderman regardless
- I love Pepper. Oh my word!
- And Peter working as Pepper's assistant! Yes! I love it! Didn't know I needed this in my life until now
- This entire story was very sweet and lovely and I kinda wanna cry -

- Oh my word! This!
- I love it, but oh wow! This is kinda horrifying, and not even for the body horror aspect
- Danny being low-key manipulated (and very easily, at that) and caving to his instincts is horrifying enough, but then he's happy about it and doesn't mind, and like, that makes it so much worse
Like this bit towards the end: the fact that Danny finds this comforting: !!!
“Daniel, if I wanted you made into a songbird, I would have merely needed to lock the door behind you that first night, and it would have been beyond easy to take care of the rest of the steps myself. I know you are not in a state to be interested in the details, but the Observants did a horribly sloppy, rushed job in their hurry to throw you back in our faces. If I were making you into a songbird, I would start with letting you help me pick out the music.”That was… weirdly comforting.
“In any case, if I were to make you into anything but a messenger, I would make you into a scribe. You would be much more suited for that role, even if their rarity surpassed even that of songbirds.”
