Summary
Sirius escapes Azkaban in August 1993. He has two goals: 1) Find Harry, 2) Kill Peter Pettigrew.
Sirius turns up at the Dursley's to check on Harry and things do not go as planned... but that's okay because what he finds is better.
"Sirius had been expecting the house to be grey, dark, and stale, but as he crossed the threshold he was hit with the smell of cooking food and the sounds of a warm crackling fire. As he walked through the foyer he found he was in the direct eye-line of a man, a familiar looking man who stood with impeccable posture at the long kitchen table cutting carrots. The man was of average height (slightly taller than Sirius), slim build, and had dark black curly hair that he kept tucked behind one ear. He continued chopping vegetables in tailored black slacks, heavy leather boots, and an expensive looking gray wool sweater. Most curiously about his appearance was the emerald green apron that was fitted around the man's waist that read “World’s Greatest Uncle” in silver lettering. "

Summary
Regulus black deserved to die at the cave, yet he didn't. He survived and is now living with the burden of what that means.
Harry Potter makes it worth it. Regulus will continue to survive for him.
Harry, however, is sick of people dying for him. Good thing he was raised by a very wise wizard and has very wise friends.

Summary
Regulus Black survived the inferi only for the aftereffects of the cursed cave to attack his magic and turn him into a squib.
He lived long enough to see his brother arrested and imprisoned without trial. He lived long enough for his mother to disown him. He lived long enough to become an outcast in the world where he grew up.
Regulus had nothing left to live for. Then one day, on a whim, he decided to check on his brother’s godson. And then Regulus had someone to fight for.

Regulus Black was Dead.
And he was supposed to stay dead- lie low, until he figured out how to destroy that damned locket. And perhaps the many other Horcruxes the Dark lord made. Until the war was over, and he could face his brother.
But his brother betrayed the Potters. And he was legally the parent of their son. They were supposed to raise him together, after the war, the three of them together.
But James and Lily are dead.
