"Merfolk are more dangerous then sirens, in my opinion. Sirens are pretty words and smiles, and they just drown you before eating you. Merfolk aren't as kind. I once watched one jump all the way up to the ship railing, grab a man, and literally eat him alive while we had to watch and listen to his screams. By the time that mer went back into the water there was only half a man left. Blood and pieces of flesh everywhere. That was a female, what many would claim is the weaker of their species. The males are rarely seen but they say you better hope you don't see one. They say when the males come up, they're usually looking to feed or breed. If he sets his sight on you there's an eighty percent chance of you dying before your journey ends, I imagine."

Instead, he accidentally catches the attention of a vampire pack.
Now there are, expensive flowers appearing outside his apartment and six terrifyingly devoted people acting like Mae already belongs to them, which would be easier to process if the pack itself wasn’t completely insane.
One alpha watches Mae with calm, ancient possessiveness, another smiles while saying horrifying things in a velvet-soft voice, one reacts to danger like a feral guard dog, and one becomes emotionally unstable every time Mae looks scared. The omega makes captivity feel comforting, which is arguably the most disturbing part, and the beta is somehow the closest thing in the house to normal.
Meanwhile Mae is:

It takes a substantial amount of control for Price to swallow back his fire and not simply light the room and everyone in it up in flames. His fingers flex where his hands are folded behind his back, an itch along his wrists and between his shoulders as he fights to keep his human shape. The upper brass are oh-so-willing to cozy up to monsters in the military until it comes time to show them anything monstrous.
Still, he knows his eyes have a golden sheen, and fire glows in his mouth when he says, "You're not taking my men away from me. Respectfully."

Yuuji stilled for a moment, then, as if realisation had finally dawned upon him of his boyfriend’s horrid mood, he wrapped his arms around Megumi’s frame and pushed his face deeper into the crook of his neck, clearly disregarding social etiquette and courtesy.
Megumi swallowed hard and wished the butterflies in his tummy could be exterminated with some industrial strength poison.
“Oh,” Yuuji said cheekily against the warm skin of Megumi’s neck. “So that’s how it is.”
Megumi continued ignoring him with the commitment of a monk.
Yuuji, unfortunately, was not a monk.
Yuuji was a menace.
